OWE ex Taipei

I'll start a AONE4 in Taipei in May.
Any experience with a good travel agent there? Or is it better to contact the airline (CX) directly?

I had worked with 3 local agents in the past 2 months to do an RTW in summer -- none of them had ever done one. The American Express travel agency just quit on me saying they couldn't do it. All of them took 2-3 weeks and endless e-mails. One of them gave me a completely wrong product (Europe pass), the other booked me on LH HKG-FRA, insisting they were part of oneworld. If there is a good agent for RTWs in Taiwan, I haven't found them yet

I then called CX directly and got my itinerary worked out, confirmed and ticketed within 24 hours. Mind you mine's for business and I didn't maximize miles with extravagant routes. Since CX is now also offering D fares directly over the phone (strangely enough not on the internet), I have given up on TAs completely.

Thank you for your reply, mhtaipei.
I will follow your advise and book directly with either AA RTW desk or CX.
My idea in the first place was to find a good agent which could help with cheap D fares to Australia as well.
I found an interesting 'triangle' A/D fare ex HKG., which allows HKG-SYD-LHR-HKG but I don't have all details yet.

There was one agency whom I contacted ions ago, called "Jenny Su Travel Service". The agent I spoke to had problem figuring out where NCE was.

This agency advertises a lot on Business Traveller-Asia magazine.

that's not a valid criticism -- i don't think there is a lot of traffic between Taiwan and Nice. It's like blaming a French agent for not knowing where Kenting is.

Jenny Su is still one of the better agents in town. I never tried them for RTWs.

I have asked a Paris travel agent. She knows all about Kenting. said that if you enjoy swimming next to a nuclear power station, then Kenting is better than Nice.

If you just want tickets in Taipei call Davids Ticketing (02) 2516 5189 and ask for Veronica (the manager).

"Tickets" or "RTW tickets"? Any TA anywhere can be used to buy regular tickets-- but ONE tickets are a specialty item-- does the agency you list do them?

Davids

They do my NWA RTW. Japan is too expensive for RTW tickets.
Star and OW I do elsewhere. Note normal return bookings can be very reasonable from Japan, Korea and Taiwan, so do not think only RTW if you are on business or on a "miles run" (quel concept?).
