Which ticket is best for this
I've been poring the boards for some time but still haven't got any sort of handle on the complex farerules that abound.
I want to do a LHR-MEL-SYD-PER-BNE-AKL-HKG-YVR-LHR in the autumn of this year in a very rushed 3 week format. I'd like to do it in Business class. I'm not going to mess about with going to CAI or LIS to get the ticket, I don't have time for that sort of thing.
Which ticket will be best for this and who is it best to book through?

If you aren't prepared to leave the UK to start the ticket then frankly you should probably talk to Trailfinders ( http://www.trailfinders.co.uk ) who can put something together for you. Buying a OWE or similar out of the UK is unlikely to be cost effective.

christep is right. OWE tickets ex-UK are pricey in business. A DONE4 is 4519. If you just hop across the Channel and leave from CDG, you can get the same ticket for 3392 (using today's exchange rates (1 = 0.6784).
However, if you're willing to fly in the back of the bus then the UK offers some very good prices on OWE (1319-1519 depending on when you start).

It's not a question of being unwilling to leave the UK. It's a question of time to do it.
Otherwise I'd be off to LIS or CAI with the rest of them.
A DONE4 it is then and I shall go and chat to Trailfinders.
I'm not racing around the world celebrating my 40th birthday in the back of the bus.

If you're going to buy a DONE4 then there's no value in using Trailfinders. My point was that they could put together a custom made RTW ticket for you which might well be significantly cheaper than a OWE.
