Round the World Qualifying
Any suggestions on itineraries that would earn me 30,000 qualifying miles on AA? I need a little more than 30k qualifying miles on AA to earn EXP status.
How much does a round the world coach ticket cost including the southern hemisphere?

IMHO, for 30K Q-miles, you really don't need a RTW- from JFK, for instance, a ~$1000 ticket to SIN or BKK will net around 20K Q-miles, and ~$350 can get you over 10K to Europe if you route through ORD or MIA (maybe DFW, if routing allows).

If you are just flying for the miles then I agree with landspeed - a RTW trip will run about $3,500 + taxes for a 3 continent trip.
If you want to take the time to see a bit of the world, however, then the RTW can be a great value. The problem is timing - it's not worth it to fly into a city, only to fly out that night or the ext morning.
The ideal RTW trip is one where you can get a map of the world and start sticking pins on places you really want to see and build the trip up from there.
