ATW from BKK

Has anyone originated an ATW ticket in BKK? I note that a paid ticket in B/C from LAX is < $1500. And the ATW tickets look to be about $800.00 more than from CAI.

If you have originated in BKK, was ticketing easy/convenient?

And, as an aside... Am I correct in assuming that I can fly B/C ATW on JAL flight if it has an AA flight #? And get status miles?

Thanks.

Terry

I don't have anything particularly useful to add regarding your post other than don't you mean RTW?

Hey, wait a sec, I do have something to say...I think it's relatively easy to ticket in Bangkok.

I have ticketed two RTWs (AONE3 and DONE4) over the past year from Bangkok. It is painless, unless you do it through BA. I suggest that you make the booking with the AA RTW desk and then it can be ticketed by any travel agent in Bangkok.

You cannot fly JAL on a ATW (RTW/OWE/GE/etc.) fare even if it carries an AA flight number. Only OW metal qualifies for OWE RTW flights.
