JFK-CAI on MS

We started an OWE in CAI for obvious reasons, and I didn't have quite enough miles available to get from LAX to CAI 'for free' n a premium cabin - although for those of us without a million miles in the account, there's still a cost of using miles - in a premium cabin. Paying almost anyone for the trip would have eliminated the savings, so we asked here about using Egyptair, who offer a USD1500 fare JFK-CAI in F.

In case anyone wants to follow in our footsteps/contrails, here's our opinion: "it was worth $1500".

The equipment is a 777, seats are okay old-style leather, enough recline to get some sleep if you're not too picky. The nearest thing I can compare it to is KLM biz class across the Atlantic. MS F was way better than KL D. I don't have any experience with BA J/C/D but don't doubt that it's worlds better, but more than twice the price.

Glad you found the experience of MS not too bad. Personally, I would take BA WT+ over MS F or J any day. I found the service and food was absolutely dire when I used them.

You do get specials on BA WT+ and with AA miles it is sometimes worth it to pay and go to CAI.

Whle MS F should probably not be called F (service level similar to WT+ I understand), I personally would pick it just for the seat comfort at US $1500.

Yes, the food and service were "dire" (and no alcohol at all, as someone pointed out) so if you're looking for a real first class experience you will be very disappointed. I was just looking for a place to sleep for a few hours, and it was a much cheaper "hotel" than any other choice.

How did you get an MS F fare between JFK to CAI for only $1500?

Well, at least a couple of months ago it was the published fare. I booked it using ITN (thus had to pay $15 for tix, but no big deal.)
