Oneworld Circle Trip Explorer
I plan to travel SYD/PER/JNB/NBO/JNB/HKG/BOM/HKG/BKK/SYD and wonder how many FF points may be accumulated. Is there any website where miles may be calculated?
The fare as I understand it allows for two stopovers in each continent ie JNB and NBO in Africa, BOM and BKK in Asia and SYD and perhaps AKL, if possible, in SWP. Of course, stopovers as for HKG are allowed for. Are there suggestions to increase FF points? I will try as much as possible to use QF,CX and other partners of the QF program.
Hope to get some feedback from you guys.
Thanks
PS

No web site that I know of.
It depends on
your FF program
airline flown
status level
class of travel
Just get busy with a spreadsheet
This post One World Distances has a list of some direct flights that exist (or did exist at that time it was done). These are flights with a single flight number. They may go via several airports.. Some even require a change of aircraft, like, MIA-NRT on AA, but they are a single flight number, which is the important thing
Flights between destinations are being reduced every day, with current world problems, so you need to check.
Distances from http://gc.kls2.com/ or from airline web sites

SYD-PER-JNB-NBO-JNB-HKG-BOM-HKG-BKK-SYD is 28492 miles (from http://gc.kls2.com)
It may worth consiering a Round The World ticket, (Oneworld Explorer) even if you just transit Europe & USA

Perhaps this thread would be best in the OW forum as there is a pool of info on this topic and they do not necessarily check QF forum.
Questions,
What FF program(/s) are you putting the points into?
What class are you buying?
There are a couple of threads recently in the OW forum where the economy booking class for the OWE explorer is changing from M to L. I do not know if that applies to this product as well, however you will have to plan carefully that the booking class pays points, or full points, into your chosen FF account. For QF see the T&C's for exclusions and limitations.

SECTOR MILES PROG MILES SC's PROG SC's
SYD-PER 2041 2041 20 20
PER-JNB 5071 7112 40 60
JNB-NBO 1802 8914 20 80
NBO-JNB 1802 10716 20 100
JNB-HKG 6647 17363 40 140
HKG-BOM 2678 20041 20 160
BOM-HKG 2678 22719 20 180
HKG-BKK 1063 23782 20 200
BKK-SYD 4679 28461 25 225
So this itinerary will get you 28,461 points, and 225 status credits (based on NB status in discount Y - if a higher status, then points earnt will vary, if in anything other than discount Y, SC earnings will vary as well).

What date do you plan on travelling?
QF will only give 25% for BA & 50% for AA after 1 Jan 04 for discounted Y. This will greatly reduce accumulated points.
For example NBO-JNB will be in BA. So 1802 miles will get 25% air points = 450 and the 20 SC.

SAA?? - this is a OW product. Doesn't travel have to be on OW airlines or their affiliates?</font>
