Difference between M & L class on OWE
Although the slightly changed rules apply only to Economy fares, sometimes on a First or Business OWE one is forced to do a short segment in Economy because nothing else is offered.
Could someone explain the difference between M & L class in accruing miles on (a) BA, and (b) AA.
Thanks.

Looks like CX's Asiamiles will be the only programme to give you 100% miles on all Oneworld airlines booked in L class. (Except BA and QF - where 50% is awarded)

Thank you all for your responses. However no-one has answered the basic question, what is the difference between M & L class for mileage accrual on BA and AA. Is there any?

For credit to AA, the info is all available on the AA site. In the AAdvantage section, it lists all the fare earning classes for all partner carriers , so you could have had a look there
AA Flight - L 100% , M 100%
CX flights - L 0% , M 0%
EI flights - L 0% , M 0%
QF flights -
Until 31/12/03 - L 70% , M 70%
From 01/01/04 - L 0% , M 50%
BA flights - L 25% , M 25%
IB flights - L 30% , M 30%
AY flights - L 100% , M 100%
LA flights - L 100% , M 100%
The only real difference is that L earns 0% on QF from 1st January next year whilst M earns 50%
