Lan Chile Questions.

Thought id post here as the "other south american" site is a little slow.
Im travelling first on Lan Chile AKL-SCL next week.
Do they give pyjamas(otherwise ill pack some)
What french champagne is onboard now.
I read tattinger a few years ago but it doesnt seem high on most peoples priorities as the chilean wines are all the go for others.
I certainly will try some reds-any suggestions on what is good.
I prefer cab sav.
Is there a first class lounge in AKL?
thanks in advance

No pajamas, but you will get a duvet.

This past February, the champagne was Tattinger.

I suspect you will use the QF lounge in AKL and will have access to the first class side (that was how it worked in SYD when I tokk this flight to AKL)

I have posted a few detailed trip reports on Lan Chile, including menus and wine lists. Do a search under my name both in trip reports and in archieves and you will find them.

It should be a great flight.

LA doesn't provide pyjamas as they don't have sleeper beds. They do have deep recline F seats (over 170 degrees, similar to the often-vilified old-F seats that CX used to have and which were the subject of much hysteria on FT). The champagne is 95 Taittinger Comtes B de B (quite nice). LA stocks some great red wines but none of the cabs are anywhere close to drinkable (far too young). You might have to switch to a Merlot or Carmenere. If you insist on a cab try the Don Melchor. As for the lounge in AKL, it is the tried and true Qantas lounge.

Unless I flew on some freakish CX plane, they are not the same. They are more or less the same as the coffin seats on AA 767 and pacific 777.

The wines are on Lan Chile's website somewhere and are all chilean.

The still serve tattinger and they still serve caviar.
