QF Domestic classes
Hello again,
I am trying to get some seats on a QF domestic route (AYQ-CNS) using an economy OWE. From what I can see on Galileo, they dont seem to have M class available ever on this route. This is a typical reading: J2 D1 Y9 H0 K9 M0 L1 S0 VC O0. Y, K, and L are usually available but never M.
If this is true, does it mean that technically I can never use this sector on an economy OWE? Or will they let me book on a lower class? Tried to call QF just then but was on hold for 20-odd minutes before I gave up and thought I'd ask those FFFFFers (Friendly Frequent Flying Flyertalk Fanatics). Thanks in advance for any help.

QF will release seats upon request, but part of the influence upon their decision to release a seat is the status of the requester. Your status (AA Gold) is below QF Silver, so I think it does mean that a seat will never be released for you (unless you buy someone in QF a lot of beers). AA plays this same game (check the Caribbean routes during the winter). You would have better luck routing through Sydney, for example (but that costs you an extra sector). You would have much better luck if you were at least AA Plat (maybe a mileage run is in order).

I put a random date into Amex ITN. M seats exist, but they're pretty thin on the ground.
