DONE4

I am purchasing a DONE4 ex-MEL (and want to return to MEL).

Before leaving Aus I want to visit SYD & BNE (or Noosa) and then come back to MEL, stay a while and then leave for NA.

I realise there is a rule to prevent travel via point of origin (ie MEL). Given I want to start in MEL and come back there, stop again and then go to NA I can't see a way I can do this. Am I right?

The only way I can see is ticketing in MEL, to originate in SYD, get a cheapie Y fare MEL-SYD and from there start on DONE4 SYD-BNE-MEL-LAX-etc.....

Am I right?

Yes. You will need to start in SYD or other city. Once you return to your starting city the trip is finished

I am doing a OWE trip that started in SYD, has a 6 month stopover in MEL (where I live) and then finishes in ADL

You are only allowed 2 stopovers in country of origin. Also dont waste valuable sectors in Oz when you can by cheap tickets on QF or Virgin
