Extension of one world ticket
Hi
I had bought my one world ticket last year
in April. Due to various reasons, I could not even think of traveling till March, and
then the IRAQ war made it difficult to plan any travel (from the family perspective).
Now, I am can complete my remaining legs of
travel in July (via the Atlantic to India)
Can these tickets be extended under special circumstances? I had ticketed these through
AA. Is it their call or the oneworld call?
Any tips/suggestions on how to go about doing this, if at all possible.

I have never heard of a oneworld Explorer ticket being extended beyond the 1 year time limit. The only people who can give you a definitive answer are AA. When you have spoken to them please let us know the outcome.

Tickets are valid 1 year from date of departure, not date of issue. But you must have travelled on that date otherwise, it reverts to 1 year from date of issue.
Say you issued a ticket in April 2002 for travel in Jan 2003. If you have flown at least the first segment of the ticket, then you'd be protected till Jan 2004 to complete your entire journey.

Thanks guys..
I asked AA, and they said no luck.
My RTW trip started in April 2003.
How much is the refund. It was a 3 continent
RTW. Completed 2.
I will ask them about the refund.

I doubt very much is you will receive anything. Sorry.
