Concord Availability
Where can I see Z class concorde availability.
I called QF FF and they can't see any, BA is closed, and I tried http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/people/...leo/frame.asp.
Any other way to find out availability. I want to go End of Sep or early Oct....

I can confirm that, on my flight a BA Premier on full R fare was left behind (forced to slum in subsonic F). BA does not overbook Concorde and doesn't bump anyone -- not even award seats. Might be the only flight in the world with such a policy. Just be sure to check in within the required times as there are always people on standby and BA will reclaim any seats missing the check-in deadline.
BA is not making any award seats available for the rest of the year. Any cancellations will be sold as R and not go back to the award pool. Almost every flight is leaving 100% full (this info is based on a chat with Special Services rep at JFK).

number_6,
Thanks for the info - it was exactly what I was looking for but not what I was hoping for.
Seems like my consternation has lost me a unique opp.....will have to blow the points on a F flight I suppose...

There will be availability for awards in September.
There are a lot of seats being held off the market and to a certain extent this strategy has worked especially over the next month (then again last month they did allow over 200 seats to be redeemed for miles after they were supposedly no longer doing so).

This BA press release (top one dated June 17) seems to suggest that they are willing to sell discounted seats... not sure from reading it whether the Concorde sector can be either or LHR-JFK.
