would a global explorer fit my itinerary?

first post on this forum so pls be nice to me
going rtw for 12 months with one world, leaving in september. no one here in italy has a clue about rtw tickets so i have to find everything out by myself, so sorry if i am making some dumb mistakes! i want to fly to delhi, bangkok, oz (pref into darwin and out of melbourne), nz (into christchurch and out of auckland), south america (into santiago and out of ecuador). can i do it with a global explorer, or do i need a continent - based ticket? can you suggest a feasible route with a global explorer ticket? i am not really interested in miles, just need to find a ticket that fits my route. any suggestions are welcome! thanks

Here is a quick pass at an unoptimized route that meets your requirements: fco-lhr-bom-bkk-syd-drw-mel-chc-akl-scl-uio-mad-fco. This would require a 34,000 Global Explorer or a 4 continent OWE. They are priced the same in business (5000) but the OWE is less expensive in coach (2400 vs 2900).

If you choose the OWE you can make some extra stops and side trips in SA and Asia.

Er, since when was Delhi = BOM?

FCO-LHR-DEL-HKG-BKK-SYD-DRW-MEL-CHC-AKL-UIO-MAD-FCO

perhaps.

Oops.

Now SCL is missing. Must be that early morning thing - at least that's my excuse, early evening thing for you.

How about:

FCO-LHR-DEL-HKG-BKK-SYD-DRW-MEL-CHC-AKL-SCL-UIO-MAD-FCO

Still under 34,000 miles - barely.

A 4 continent OWE would give 20 segments with no mileage restriction, but has less code shares allowed

Mileage tickets have many more code share partners, so can get to more places.

Still, I would go for 4 continent OW explorer ticket
