And there we finally see it, in devilishly-flaming letters, "Max 20 flight segments - entire journey". Aaargh.

Maybe they won't count any open-jaws against the total, small solace.

But there are other interesting items. Change fee is still listed as $75 and the PER-SYD exception when connecting to AFRICA still available, even for those who do not originate in Perth.

as for AA, the open-jaw is NOT considered in the 20 segments limit.

HeadInClouds, I don't see how the Australia/Africa exception is helpful. I don't see African service from PER, only SYD, and can't imagine the rule means they'd let me fly ----SYD-PER-SYD-JNB-- or something similar.

Last time BA put out something like this, it was filled with more holes than a block of swiss cheese. I would take it with a *serious* grain of salt. The rule exists out of fairness. It would otherwise seriously impede the choices of people who are originating in Perth if they want to go to NZ, or those in NZ if they want to visit Perth.

89N . EXCEPTION - NO RESTRICTION BETWEEN SYD-PER FOR
90N . PASSENGERS ORIGINATING PER OR NEW ZEALAND WHEN
91N . IN CONJUNCTION WITH TRAVEL TO/FROM AFRICA

The Africa/PER rule is there for good reason and has been there for as log as I can remember.

When originating in JNB the only destination available is SYD. If the exception rule was not in place you would not be able to go to PER because of the "No more than two flights between......" rule. On my ex-JNB OWE Explorer I was originally ticketed to fly JNB-SYD-CNS-SYD-PER-SYD-JFK.

An intercontinental arrival at SYD from JNB would not prevent one flying in-continent to PER, just as arriving at LAX from LHR does not count as the one allowed US non-stop transcontinental.
