Need advice for AONE3
I'm going book the ticket (in June-July):
EUROPE: 1.CAI-MAD intercontinental MAD-LIM SOUTH AMERICA: 1.LIM-SCL-IPC 2.IPC-SCL-UIO 3.UIO-SCL intercontinental SCL-SYD-HKG ASIA: 1.HKG-DPS 2.DPS-HKG-CMB 3.CMB-BKK 4.BKK-HKG-NRT intercontinental NRT-LHR EUROPE: 2.LHR-DXB 3.DXB-LHR-MOW 4.MOW-LHR-CAI I'm not sure about inetrcontinental segment SCL-SYD-HKG. Is it possible for AONE3? And one question: Can I tear the Continent. Thanks. |
Routings look legal to me. Remember you have 4 free sectors not free flights. Your SA contains 5 sectors, your Asia 6 and your Europe 5. The only exception is if you continue within 24 hours on the same flight number. Expect to be charged a flat rate for the extra sectors.
Not sure what 'tear' a continent means. |
From what I see... you can't jump from SCL to HKG via SYD. That would count it as a Continent. So the AONE3 has to be a 4.
You're only allowed 2 stopovers from your originating continent .. which is EUROPE (CAI is considered EUROPE in this case) so basically you'd have to cut out a few flights on the way home. You're allowed only 4 sectors per continent. Any other you'd have to pay extra with the exception of the originating continent. |
You can't do CAI & DXB on the same ticket.
Seems too many segments to me but would depend on the flight #s. |
Scratching head but I seem to remember reading something about LA excluding IPC from these types of tickets, maybe it was just the Visit Chile product...

First, you can do easter island. Second, you can do cairo and dubai on the same ticket. Third, you have too many segments. Fourth, from london, you can go to cairo *or* dubai *or* moscow, but *not* all three. Fifth, you get 4 segments, not four flights, not four sectors, four segments. A segment is a single flight number. So if you went from Cairo to Barcelona, that would be a segment. If you went from Cairo to Madrid, that would be a segment if you kept a single flight number, even if it stops in Barcelona and is actually two flights.
Assuming that you want to stop at all the place that you broke your list at and are not sensitive to a specific order, your itinerary will look like this. CAI-MAD-SCL-IPC-SCL-UIO//LIM-SCL-SYD-HKG-DPS- HKG-CMB//HKG-NRT-LHR-DXB//MOW-LHR//MAD-CAI You will need to get your own tickets wherever the // is. So between Quito and Lima (which is about $150), between Colombo and Bangkok (which is about $200), between Bangkok and Hong Kong (which is about $200), between Moscow and Dubai (which is about $400), and between London and Madrid (which is about $75). Or you can take off some of those stops. [This message has been edited by Darren (edited 03-11-2003).] |
Thanks all.
Thank you very much, Darren! Your info is very important for me. As your advice I changed my future route, that is: ...CMB//HKG-NRT-LHR-DXB-LHR-MOW//MAD-CAI. I retained OW-fare as AONE3. |
Originally posted by WEREX: I retained OW-fare as AONE3. That is 4 continents not 3. Moreover, Darren's comment implied you need a CMB-BKK ticket, but it looks to me as if you need a CMB-HKG, which will be somewhat more expensive. |
Wasabi Tofu - is that a OW/LA rule or only applicable to LA flights that are one class?

christep:
Are you sure about my fourth continent - South West Pacific (Australia), but I have not planing stopover in SYD? |
Yes. For ONE tickets if you touch a continent then you pay for it. Given that you are there you might as well have the four free segments and see something of AUs/NZ.
The only 3 continent grouping available currently is Europe/Asia/N America |
Can I have ANY direct transcontinental OW-flight from South America to Asia for AONE3?
Second question - Are PPT and NAN valid for OW-Explorer? |
There are no direct flights from Asia to S America on any airline that I know of.
PPT Is not possible because the Air Tahiti Nui codeshare is not allowed. Er, ... is NA (Nadi)? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by christep (edited 03-12-2003).] |
