Please critic this ONE4 from Australia

syd-hkg-bom-hkg-dps-hkg-nyc-ord-stl-anc-stl-ord-sju-ord-lax-lon-dxb-lhr-ist-lhr-hkg-akl-mel-drw-per-syd

My goal is to get as many miles as possible to help complete AA exe plat for this year. Please let me know. By the way I will be doing this in economy.

1. If this is a legal routing
2. If there are ways to improve the mileage.
3. And finally the best way to get to australia from ORD, miles or money. I have enough miles in Qantas and 50K with NW and 25K in Delta and Continental each.

Thanks for the help

http://gc.kls2.com/cgi-bin/gc?PATH=s...&PATH-UNITS=mi &SPEED-GROUND=&SPEED-UNITS=kts&RANGE-STYLE=best&RANGE-COLOR=navy&MAP-STYLE=

(Edited to include the updated route)
(Edited to include 2 more additional segments in Australia.)
(Edited to get 13 more miles by changing from ord-lax-lhr instead of ord-sfo-lhr)
(Edited to change ORD-ANC to STL-ANC. ORD-STL in surface sector)

1) you can't go back through SYD -- once you're there, your tour is over. Better SWP sector is (HKG-)AKL-MEL-PER-CNS-SYD.

2) there is no ORD-ANC. N.Am sectors also contains a short trip from NYC-ORD; try something like JFK-SJU-LAX-DFW-ANC-DFW-SFO-LHR.

3) you can go to KHI instead of BOM for a few more miles...

Hope this helps.

I don't think there is a direct flight PER-CNS. However, you could do PER-DRW-SYD and actually get a few more miles than going via CNS.

Now the bad news: you will get no credit for the CX flights unless you have a Canadian address on your AAdvantage account. OWE economy is booked in M class and CX does not give credit for M. Also, QF only gives 70% credit.

Thanks for the replies.

I am trying the fix for the SWP segments. I am not able to find the per-darwin-syd or per-cns-syd on cathay pacific timetable. Also I thinkg the routes you specified are crossing the 2 segment limit for the continent of origin.

As for NA segments I live in MKE and plan on taking a break after the SWP, Asia trip before visiting ANC and later SJU. I thought that there are seasonal flights ORD-ANC in summer.

As for the Canadian AA membership, I can easily change my AA account to a canadian address, but wondering if they will have the same benefits as US members especially VIPOWs etc.

Thanks for the replies.

PER-DRW QF792 0805-1305 Daily
DRW-SYD QF82 0440-1230 Daily

You get 4 segments in your continent of origin, SWP, but only two stopovers (>24 hours). Thus, you need to pick your flights accordingly. I recommend AKL and PER (you get SYD automatically as your origin/termination point).

No seasonal flights ORD-ANC, just STL-ANC and DFW-ANC. You could do JFK-ORD-SJU-DFW-ANC-DFW-SFO.

You only need to move to Canada until the flights post. After that, you can move back to the U.S. However, I do think that Canadians get the same general EXP benefits as U.S. members, including VIPOWs.

(Edited to fix the times of the QF flights, the NA segment order and my lack of paying attention to where you start and end this trip.)

You can get marginally more miles by ending NA in LAX and going from there to London.

Your LHR-HKG-AKL must be a transit in HKG not a stopover.

Otherwise it looks good.

QF will have ORD-MEL 3 times a week from 31 March. Get a cheap flight on QF or Virgin MEL to SYD or rearange to start in MEL.

ORD SJU is 2071 miles
DFW SJU is 2165 miles
but your "ground" portion STL-ORD changing to STL-DFW is longer

Wouldn't you also get more miles starting in AKL? AKL-HKG is longer than SYD-HKG by over 1000 miles.

Ticket might be a bit cheaper originating from AKL also.

I agree with the additional 1000 miles, but it is much cheaper at the current exchange rates to buy from Australia.
