advice on a OWE vs point to point

I need some help out there...
Business class all the way....traveler is AA Plat.
LAX YYC (that seems to be AC/UA only)
YYC-HKG via YVR (AC to CX)
HKG BOM (CX is nonstop)
BOM MAA DEL (Jet)
DEL JNB (SA for BOM JNB)
JNB LHR (BA)
LHR YYZ (BA)
YYZ LAX (AA)

Thoughts:

What kind of RTW can be done here?
Wouldnt CX be the best choice in biz on the long haul? it is much more with CX than AC to HKG
SA seems to have JNB all to themselves.
Is SA or VS cheaper than BA out of JNB?

the point to point total is well over 9000 USD.
am I looking at the wrong alliance?

Thank you for looking at this.

You can best do this by buying an open-jaw LAX-YYC-YVR as a separate ticket and starting the RTW in YVR (this gets you the Canadian price, about 20% less than the US price). Then you can go YVR-HKG-BOM-HKG-JNB-LHR-YYZ-DFW-LAX. The OWE is segment based, not mileage (4 segments per continent except 6 for North America, but only 2 stopovers in your continent of origin). For business class BA is generally considered to be the best (you could also return LHR-LAX and take a separate trip to Toronto using the remaining segments). I think your routing works well for OWE except for the YYC requirement.

Since DEL and MAA also seems to be a requirement then you have two options:

HKG-BOM X DEL-HKG-JNB using Jet for BOM-MAA-DEL
or
HKG-BOM-HKG-DEL-HKG-JNB using a sidetrip from BOM-MAA-BOM on Jet.

The second is quite possibly the cheapest and generates quite a lot of miles, but obviously takes a lot longer.
