OWE ex-BKK - advance purchase ? changes permitted ?
I am currently planning a 4-continent oneworld Explorer trip ex-BKK...the agent told me that there is a 7-day advance purchase requirement, and the outbound flight ex-BKK is not changeable once the ticket is issued.
However, when I read the rules...I think for Area 3 (Asia/SWP?)...there is no advance purchase requirement, and that prior to departure, "unlimited changes permitted without charge".
Anyone knows which of this is correct ? I am thinking...maybe my agent confused oneworld Explorer with Global Explorer ? maybe that's the reason ? or is there a newer version of the rules for oneworld Explorer that is different from what I was reading ?
Thanks a lot !!

No, you're correct. You can issue up to 1 hr prior departure from BKK. And changes are permitted anytime as long as there is no rerouting of the first sector.

just one clarification, say, if I want to change the date of travel for the 1st sector (say by 2-3 days, not a few months), after the ticket is issued...that should be ok, I guess ? thanks !!

in theory, it requires a re-issue, but there is no penalty. (just a lot of trouble and time consuming)
so change the date of first segment is "almost" the same as re-issuing the ticket.
you can even re-route wihtout penalty.
