Any charge for rerouting sequence?

I wish to change route as ...HKG-Colombo-BKK-HKG.. instead of ...HKG-BKK-Colombo-HKG... However, CX CS told me to pay $75 for reissue the ticket and dun't waive such charge. According to CX's schedule, there is a flight ex. HKG to Colombo via BKK. What do u guys think?

Sorry - but I think you have to pay the change fee - that's the way the tickets work.

you have to pay the fee. because the ticket coupons are different now.

if your original coupons are
hkg-bkk-cmb-bkk-hkg.
then it could be interpreted as 'change of time' and no charge.
now in your case it is change of routes.
