OW - NBO-CPT???
On the last segment(s) of my AONE4, I seem to have backed myself into a corner. Have found everything I need all the way to NBO, and have my US return booked CPT-NYC. Now, I just need to link NBO to CPT somehow! Since I already have used 1/2 of my return tkt, I am locked into leaving from CPT. And I am pretty much locked into the NBO stop as well. Only way I can see of getting NBO-CPT on OW is back thru LHR.. I have 2 segments and 3 days left to use for this route. Willing to buy more, or to fly into JNB if necessary and pay own way to CPT (country of origin restriction). Any ideas???

Thanks RichLond,
Thanks to your post, I was able to find this. Not a problem with these being codeshares? Since my landing in JNB will officially end the RTW (country of origin thing), I will just purchase the additional segment to CPT on my own. BTW, this option did not come up on the BA site!
Thanks again!

Basically if you started FROM JNB on your original ticket, you cannot PASS through your original point to another destination ie add another sector JNB-NBO-CPT. If you can however, fly to NBO instead, you may then fly onto JNB after that without purchasing another sector. Remember you are still allowed 4 sectors in Africa and 2 stopovers.

LHR and DXB would be stopovers.
Is that correct ?

I'm not sure I understand your question, so I'll answer both interpretations of it...
The LHR and DXB are not necessarily stopovers. A stopover is where you spend 24 hours or more in a place before your next flight. Less than 24 hours is a transit.
OWE are essentially limited by the number of segments (that is individually numbered flights each with a ticket coupon). There are no additional restrictions on the number of stopovers (beyond that inherent in the segment limit) EXCEPT in the continent of origin, where you may only make two. Hence if you use your four segments in the continent of origin you must have at least two transits.
So your itinerary is essentially valid, but of the four arrivals in "Europe" - LHR, DXB, LHR, LHR - you must take the next onward flight within 24 hours in at least two cases. You have to decide which it will be at the time of ticketing since the X or O will be shown on the ticket. (My recommendation is that you get the whole itinerary except the first CDG-LHR ticketesd as open date which avoids any complications later with ignorant check-in people if you need to change the date/time of any segments.)

Sorry I was not clear and it was misleading as LHR is at the same time a transit and a stopover. I wrote that quickly w/o thinking.
Anyway, that's what I understood before but hem somewhat forgot with all the paperwork and studying for others stops, right now I have only DXB as a stopover, LHR is just transit, however problems may arise that may force me to stay a couple of days in LHR from my way back to DXB.
Your remark about everything open (but the first) is however interesting, as of now all my itinerary is mostly setup with approximate dates in BA computers (I think that in a previous call someone asked me to set approximate dates) except starting from october 2003 where AA could not handle any reservations so she issued next tickets as open.
