IB vs AA
I am headed from NCE to GIG in a couple of weeks. I would normally just take the BA connection via LHR but Ms B Watson is on the trip and needs the miles for the Plat Challenge - thus eliminating BA. So - my options are:
1) NCE - LHR - MIA - GIG with AA metal across the Atlantic and to GIG (new F on the LHR-MIA segment BTW)
2) NCE - MAD - GIG on IB - I hear REALLY bad things about IB and have never flown them -
In either case, booking will be in F
Advice please!

I can not judge IBs J or Y Class, but their F Class is very good since they introduced their flat seats a few years ago. It is not a full bed, but reclines 180, like old SQ or LH. Service is superb, at least for Spanish speakers.
In addition I think you would be nuts to fly through LHR and MIA, and add 12 hours or so to your trip.
In any case, I would make detours to avoid AA abd UA

I was on F from ORD to MAD and then in C on to STR a few month ago.
The seats are similar to the old F of AA (full flat). DOnt know about food and service. I was the only one in F and sleeping till about 10 minutes before landing. Crew was nice, let me sleep and tried to be quiet.
Lounge in MAD nice, C on the flight to STR as bad as the typical inner european C.
I would fly them again any time. General impression similar to AA. But not at the top of my list.
