Looking to defect to OW...but who to?

I have become totally aggravated with some of the *A carriers out of Tokyo (AC, UA and NZ) and am looking to defect to OW. The question is, who would be the best airline to defect to and who would be most likely to comp my LH *A Gold status? Most of my travel is in business class on business to North America and Europe (and points in between).
Any hints?

Got to AA for the FF scheme - take a Platinum Challenge (do a search in the AA forum for details) and you will be OneWorld Sapphire (meaning Elite bonuses, lounge access etc) after your first roundtrip to Europe or US. Fly CX as much as possible.

In addition to the Platinum challenge christep noted, you might also want to contact AA (in the U.S.) to have them comp you Platinum on account of LH*G.

If most of your travel is in business class , I would suggest going for the BA scheme unless you are planning to use AA for your transatlantic flights. They may or may not give you a complimentary status match, but that shouldn't be much of worry since you will have benefits by virtue of the class of travel. Getting BA silver the hard way will require attaining either 700 or 400 tier credits depending on where you register your membership. It will be 400 in continental Europe , 700 elsewhere. A flight in business class from Europe to east USA will get you 120 credits each way. A connecting flight in europe if you take one will get you 30. Any US domestic flights up to 2000 miles in 1st class will get you 45. To attain Gold ( OW Emerald ) you will need to attain 800 or 1700 points based on residency.

BA has a completely different plan in Japan. It is very unattractive. You might want to register in North America but not in Japan.

Looking at the handbook it seems fairly standard. The best way to use the BA scheme, if you have an address outside Japan you can use ,imo, is
If status is important to you, to get status initially have an account registered in europe and get Gold and then move to the US scheme thereon.
Otherwise join the UK scheme which gives 2x for club, 3x for 1st and 4x for Concorde irregardless of status and then move to the US scheme when you want to make a redemption booking
