Do I Get Elite Bonus for Flying OneWorld Partners?
I've read the rules and I think I know the answer, but since it appears that Star Alliance is different from OneWorld in this regard, I thought I would simply confirm it.
Do AAdvantage elite members get the standard 25% or 100% flight miles bonus when flying on the ticket (not codeshare) of another OneWorld partner airline?
I ask because it seems that Star Alliance partners do not do this, and this would be, in my opinion, a huge plus in comparing OneWorld with Star Alliance. Is this all correct? Thanks.

Yes, you get the elite bonus. I have received it several times on BA and QF. And your base miles count toward elite qualification.
However, there are some situations where the base miles are less than they would be on AA, such as BA trans-Atlantic flights (no credit at all), deeply discounted economy on CX (partial credit), and a couple of others.

For US members, CX only credit Y,B, H(?). but for Canadian Member more doscounted sub-classes.
For QF discounted coach it is 70% of the actual miles.
check with aa.com.

It really depends on the terms of each FF program - each is independent and has different rules.
For example in QF FF you get status bonuses (25% for Silver, 50% for Gold and 100% for Platinum), but only with QF, BA and AA. You dont get bunus points with the other 5 OW airlines. Plus there's a whole list of deeply discounted classes in all airlines you dont get points for. So better check the rules.
You know what would really be great - if the next step in the advancement of the alliances would be one FF program with one set of rules that everyone is a member of. that would prevent so much crap and mishaps and would be so much easier. i wonder if it will ever happen.

iirc, i've gotten the bonus mi's on aa from ba, qf, ei, la, iberia.
i am flying qf this month (aa code share) to get the mi's instead of 70% in disc y.
edit to add ... just checked the iberia flt, we were in el cheapo coacho. looks like i got 30% q mi's (300 or so from grand canary - madrid) plus a 500 mi bonus. i am exp.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be at the Flagship L with your pedants?
And yes you do get Elite bonuses for Oneworld partner flights. I just finished a Plat Challenge and qualified on LHR-JNB on BA. I was given Plat status almost immediately and every flight after that one received the Plat bonus.
