oneworld?

I'm not sure which forum I really should have posted this in, so if people think this is the wrong forum then please forgive me. The scenario is this:

I flew on AA back in Dec 2001. At check in I showed my MPC card but the boarding pass was issued with a QF FF number on it. At the gate I told them that I wanted the miles credited to MPC and they reissued my boarding pass. I was stupid enough not to check the new boarding pass until I was on the plane and it still had my QF FF number on it. At arrival at JFK at around midnight I couldn't find any AA agents to speak to to resolve the problem.

As of today, the miles haven't been credited to either my QF or MPC account. CX will not credit the miles because according to them they have already been credited to another program. They require a letter from QF stating that in fact the miles were not credited to my QF account. According to one of the QF FF agents I spoke to yesterday, QF do not and will not issue me such a letter. At this point I've reached a dead end, other than calling QF again and asking to speak to someone more senior. Apparently CX would have issued such a letter if the situation was reversed.

I must admit that the flight was only from SFO to JFK, but I think it is the principle that counts, plus these miles will ensure I retain my status for another year.

Thanks.

Why was your itinerary noted with your QF number on it anyway? ON AA flights, it could be segment selected... ie certain flights go to certain FF number etc.. This also works up to a point with CX as long as its not connecting flights on the same day.

QF and BA have different systems altogether in that it just remembers the first FF number placed there.

Try and speak to someone at QF FF Club about it. This can be done. I've had situations about a few years back when a flight mileage accidentally went into BA when I wanted it on QF. Well, BA had to issue a letter, and it did. So QF should do likewise. Or else, what you can try to do is to fax MPC a copy of your statement during which you took the respective flights which did not show up on yoru statement.

Please note too that only certain booking codes allow mileage credit. QF and CX have different codes by AA for their programmes.

Check again.

Thanks guy betsy

I was on a OWE booked in M class so that shouldn't be the reason fo refusal of credit.

My travel agent has my QF number on file so that may be the reason why my QF number kept coming up...
i'll call up again and hopefully I'll be able to get a more helpful response.
