OWE from Iceland?

Ok.. I did a search first for Iceland and REK - nothing.

If from what I researched so far, it's only about $1200 more to start a 6 continent A OWE from REK. Is there any disadvandage to starting from there besides having to buy a ticket JNB for $1100 and sit in coach for 15 hours vs buying a $400 ticket to REK and coach for 4.5 hours? (From NYC)

I'm thinking there must be something with routing otherwise someone else would have mentioned it.

Thanks!

I guess OW doesn't fly REK, so you'll not be able to start a RTW from there.

Ugh.. That appears to be correct. Silly me for ...-uming they had service from there if it's on the chart.

Why on earth do they offer a OWE if there's no service from there...

BA used to fly REK-LHR but they discontinued the service. I think the pricing info is still there but just hasn't been cleared out yet and isn't actually valid.
