Hey guys,
I'm currently part way through enjoying a LONE4 (thanks to your help putting it together
) with a routing of:
CAI-,AMM-BKK-NRT-KUL-MNL-,HKG-CNS-sSYD-AKL-LAX-JFK-MIA-UVF-LWG-sLHR-CAI
Bold showing the still to fly segments. I want to make some route changes so those segments remaining become instead:
SYD-CHC-sAKL-LAX-MBJ-,MIA-IAD-LHR-CAI
Have a few questions:
1. Does the changed route look valid? I've put it into the rtw.oneworld tool and it seems to check out
2. Is the $125 change fee just once for all changes. i.e. if I bundle up all the changes for both myself and partner, it should just be the one fee charged?
3. The tool no longer allows start/ending in CAI. Do you think that will cause any issues rerouting this?
4. Per the rules I understand I should be able to end by flying LHR-DXB instead of CAI. Is that correct?
5. In practice is it reasonably quick/easy to make a change like this? One quick phone call, or should I expect some back and forth and a few days wait?
Also, to check the validity I've constructed a 'fake' itinerary in the tool that mirrors my ticket as close as possible (given that I can't start/end CAI now) and then playing around with the final sectors. Is there a better way to do this, other than just interpreting the pdf rule sheet in my head?

- Looks to be a valid itinerary to me
- If you make all the changes at the same time, then it is one change fee of USD125 per person. Also the fees, taxes and charges are recalculated and you may get a refund or have to pay more
- Should cause no problems at all
- Yes. You started in the Middle East and so can end anywhere in the Middle East
- Who did you ticket with? I made major changes to my AA-issued ticket last month - 15mins on the phone and phoned back next day to find out how much I had to pay (USD125 + USD43.60) and paid on the phone

Thanks pandaperth, clears up a lot
Ticketed with RJ, hasn't been the easiest making changes so fingers crossed!
Another quick question, do you know if Turkey is considered part of the Middle East for the 'end anywhere in the Middle East' rule, or if it's considered Europe? Can't seem to find a definitive country list

My belief is based on some wording that used to be in the rules (they were removed in Dec-2016):
Free flight segments within each continent are limited as follows:
Africa 4
Asia 4
Europe Middle East 4*
*not more than 2 of which may be between the UK and ALBANIA, ALGERIA, BULGARIA, CROATIA,
CYPRUS, GREECE, MIDDLE EAST, MOROCCO, ROMANIA, RUSSIA west of the Urals, TUNISIA, TURKEY,
UKRAINE.
North America 6
South America 4
South West Pacific 4
