Purchasing ticket in non-OW country?

Although I know prices are going up shortly, I have a procedural question relating to purchasing a OWE ticket in another country in order to get a better price (as those purchased and commenced in Sweden).

Some of the fares listed on fewmiles' site seem to be for countries that I don't see as having Oneworld service (Slovenia, Slovakia, Iceland), but have some of the cheapest fares right now. How does one go about purchasing a ticket ex-....Bratislava if it isn't served by Oneworld. Can you still purchase there but depart from VIE while maintaining the cheaper Slovakia price?

BA raised prices today. I don't think you can get one tariffed and issued in enough time on the carriers that have not changed quite yet. To answer your question, though, you can't. That's why the prices have not been raised.

Ok, then a follow-on question. Why does Oneworld publish fares in a country they don't fly to if there is no way to issue a ticket originating there?

When I called the desk many moons ago, asking about Iceland (where I thought BA flew from, but I was wrong), I was told I was wrong and therefore there was no fare available. If it is still in the system, I could only credit laziness and the fact that they wouldn't have to reenter all the data if BA began flying those routes again. I can't give you the logic, I can only give what the AA desk told me when I asked the identical questions to them.

FYI for those interested, though. All the Stockholm fares went up by about 30%, Mauritus 40%, and Namibia 50%. Yikes. If you want to know the new fares, call BA.

Wow! Thanks for the great info. I'd say now was a really bad time for the airline knuckleheads to be raising fares so significantly, but I'm just a paying customer.
