There are very specific city pairs that qualify as a trans-con. SJU - LAX is not on that list and hence does not count as a trans-con. rich |

What about the Australia transcons? Are these allowed again?
|
This makes how many rule changes in how many months?
|
Hi everyone,
I just received today a copy of the latest N*/OW EXPLORER. There are no changes to the transcon rules (North American and Australian) from what I see. The star file is effective 18Jul. I'll post the updated fare rules to the website when I have a bit more time tonight or tomorrow. TransCon rule directly from SABRE:
ONLY 1 SINGLE PLANE TRANSCONTINENTAL FLIGHT PERMITTED. TRANSCONTINENTAL FLIGHT IS DEFINED AS TRAVEL BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING CITIES: BWI/BOS/FLL/BDL/ LAS/LAX/OAK/ MIA/EWR/NYC/ORL/ - AND - PDX/SAN/SEA/ PHL/SJU/YYZ/DCA SFO/SJC/YVR (Sorry for the caps...taken directly from Sabre) Hope this help settle the controversy. |
If your goal is to do transcon mileage runs, there are still a lot of cities that are not included in that list that can get you about the max number possible. Grab a schedule and do a little research. Wont post them here for fear that Rich will use them and ruin it for everyone else. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I agree that posting the missing cities would be an error in judgement since it is clear that SEA was added to the West Coast cities only after it was discussed here. It amazes me that the 1-World powers that be can read these boards and fail to fix some fundamental problems (Lan Chile missing mileage postings for instance) yet they can manage in 24 hours to update a fare rule to include a missing West Coast city. rich |
Yes, how they missed Denver as a west coast city, I will never know.
And you told me that they dont look at this board. They look at your itinerary... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
well, I just took 2 transcon flights with my OWE ticket that was changed earlier last month.. there was no problem checking in or anything, and as I said last time, the ticket was re-issued in DFW by a supervisor, and she didnīt say a thing about it... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
