Tell me I'm not crazy..
I just realised that I have about 2 weeks to do this routing : -
SIN-HKG-BKK-HKG-LHR-JFK-EZE-SCL-EZE-SCL-JFK-SAN-LAX-HKG-SIN-BKK-HKG.
Okay so most of it is in Business or in First Class.... and the Triple miles on AA between JFK and EZE is mighty tempting. But guys, I just realised that I am exhausted.
So I've cancelled my entire trip and forgoing my triple miles. In a way it's better too, then I don't have to rush to beat the AA impending strike on 1st July!
So someone please tell me I'm doing the right thing.
I will be doing 2 RTW's between July and Dec anyway!

Guy --
AA can't go on strike on July 1. The white house has already said it's going to appoint a PEB if there isn't an agreement. That delays any possible strike activites by 60 additional days.

AA isn't the main reason. My sanity is!
I've postponed this trip till November/December. I've got a few more long haul runs from August. That should cover it then.

GB,
the only difference is the mileage bonus:
3x for jfk=eze
2x or 3x lhr-USA depending whether you take AA or BA
some CXLOY bonus
so you are talking about some 20-30k bonus.
that is not barely enough to upgrade one long haul. (i suppose you suffer more for such mileage run than you gain in one long-haul upgrade)
so you are doing the right thing.
(and i don't think 20-30k means a lot to your mileage portfolio)
IMHO, you only do mileage run if you need to have it for the tier, not for the mile. becasue the whole point of getting miles is to make your future travel more comfortable, so i will not suffer today in order to suffer less in the future.
(IMHO, FOR LOGNHAUL, the only flight that is considered not as "suffer" is CX in F in such continuous run -- while CX J, BA F is okay if you fly it twice a month, but not if more often)
