Hi all.

I was looking at some of the prices listed on Fewmiles's Unofficial Oneworld infodesk and I have some questions I'm hoping some of you more knowledgable flyers can help me with.

I'm seeing prices for a First Class 4 continent RTW Fare for less in Europe (after currency conversion) than a Business Class 4 Continent RTW Fare.

I realize this doesn't include taxes and fees. Does anyone know approx how much or what % would be added to the ticket in fees and taxes?

Also, how could this fare be purchased if I'm based in the US (would it be necessary to actually buy the fare in Europe - I realize it would be necessary to start the the trip in Europe)?

Is there some really obvious piece of information I'm too clueless to see?

I just bought my 1W rtw originating in Europe, and AA is issuing it for me here.

Your right the fares are much better than x-USA

You can, and it is. Keep in mind that most of the prices on the site are wrong, but it is still an invaluable tool and can be used as a guideline quite nicely. Personally, I use a 10-12% tax guideline.

Yes, many of the prices are out of date. If you are asking for prices from a certain country, why not ask for all classes (first, biz, economy) and for 3/4/5/6 continents? Then you can e-mail me with a price update. Thanks in advance!

For visitors to the price charts, please pay attention to the "effective date" listed for the prices for each country. If it's been more than a few months, the prices have more than likely changed (i.e. gone up! )

My fare x-MAD 3 continent F with taxes was USD 4639!

The routing is

I came *very* close to getting a printout of the star system of the entire rtw network from a cto near me. Went well until she got the willies and asked a sup, who promptly chastized me for asking. She didn't appreciate me pointing out that if I could call the rtw desk and get prices that the info was not proprietary and that their system is wasting both my time and AA's resources.

Darren, what do you mean? Are you talking about rules, prices or network of cities? I've found it very easy to get the rules and fares from BA and QF - usually printed out from their system or photocopied out of physical rule books issued to staff. AA is another matter. Most of the CTO staff have no idea what RTW tickets are.

Individual prices for different countries. It wasn't a matter of them knowing what it was, it was a matter of them giving it to me. I just pointed to the star reference on the rules sheet, and asked her to print it. If you can get a copy (given that you said it was easy), then send it to fewmiles. It is exactly what he needs. There is something like 10 different star sheets, because it breaks the zones down into groups by alphabetical order.

Here's a web page provided by Finnair listing the OW RTW fares ex Sweden. The page is in Swedish but the contents of the fare table should be self-explanatory. The fares ex Sweden are very competitive. The approximate (conservative) conversion from SEK to USD is to divide by 10.

Darren, I have previously provided pricing information from various points around the world. While the information is easy to get it still takes time to either call or visit a BA/QF office - not always the most convenient thing for me to do. When I do my next RTW I'm sure I will be compiling a list of prices and I will pass them on.

Here in the UK, BA get very touchy if you ask for OWE prices for origination outside the UK and ask me to get in contact with BA offices at the relevant countries themselves.
This I find most unhelpful.
