Route Changes to RTW Ticket

I have one sector left on a Business OW RTW ticket. The sector is LHR-Rome.
Will it be possible to change this to LHR-BUD in order to get a new RTW originating out of BUD.

I know that route changes are allowable after commencement of ticket for a fee but does this apply to the final sector given that I will then not be returning to the country of origin.

Probably not. But if it makes any difference, the fares out of Budapest have risen considerably. If this is the reason you are thinking of it, check the new prices first. If I remember correctly, the most reasonable is out of Finland at the moment (in Europe, I mean).

if you can change it to lon-bud--xxx-roma, you can do it for $75, provided it still does not exceed the segment limitation

How do you arrange a OW enroute routing change? Presumably someone with more time and data than an airport check-in counter has to be involved, and I expect it'd take hours to days to accomplish?

Just booked another Business Class 4 Cont OW RTW ex Rome. The price was 4457 Euros + taxes. Still very competive with other euro countries.

The price has not gone up yet. AA have not be told what the increase is going to be but they expect about 5-8% in a day or so.

John, it is a frustrating and laborious process that indeed takes quite a while to accomplish. What they need to do is get tariffs involved and reissue the entire ticket.

You say you have 1 sector left so I assume this is the sector back to your origination. Since you have to return back to your origination country (not city), you have to have an ending segment to Italy. BUD won't work.

There is some discepancy as to whether you can buy add'l segs in your continent of origin as long as you still meet the original 2 stopover rules for continent of origin.
