OWE RTW Codeshares

I couldnt seem to find the thread that talked about allowing OW codeshares on an RTW. I just ran into a situation where it came in extremely handy, and one in which you all might want to keep in mind. I am currently in Santiago, which I like a lot. Since I had to cut part of my trip off (about 3 weeks), I talked to the CTO about changing my dep date to the 30th. No availability on LA. None for the 1st either. The agent then checked the AA codeshare, and there was availability for both days.

Basically, the codeshare was handy because apparently the computer system holds different inventory for the different flight codes.

BTW, Lan Chile has been excellent. Last nights flight from Lima to Santiago was the only average flight, but there were extenuating circumstances. The flight came from NYC, and was quite late. Apparently, catering didnt do as good a job as they should have, so little things were left off like menus and whatnot. But the FA handled everything with as much poise as she could have (even with a pax on the other side busting her chops about it). I just shook my head. Otherwise, this has been a very good airline, with the best food, hands down. No other airline food has even been close, in my opinion. I did notice, though, that the FAs are very (very) professional, which takes the personal touch out a little. But when I had the same flight crew on a different flight, they greeted me like I had been flying with them for the past 10 years. I admit that it is nice having 2 FAs for so few pax. Last night, there were three up front (including me), but all other flights there were two. Oh, and one flight, I was all alone. So I had 2 FAs to myself.

So my revised flying Mecca is now a CX cabin, BA cabin style, and LA food. And I will be nice to AA by adding their agents and ground staff to the Mecca mix.
