Confirming my OEW, Please advice
Dear all, putting this in a new trend to bring it back and this is my UPDATED itn asking for your comments about alt. flight that can gain more miles or can prevent the extra $150 segment I need to pay.
YYZ-LAX-SJU-LAX-o/MIA-GIG-SCL-LIM-LAX-LHR-O/PRG..(LAND TO ZRH)...ZRH-LHR-o/DXB-o/LHR-HKG-o/SIN-HKG-o/SEL-o/HKG-KIX-DFW-ANC-DFW-YYZ
I used all segments and 1 extra in NA thus need to pay $150 addiotional. The PRG,SIN,SEL,HKG are "MUST" stops and all others are just for mileage.
Thanks!

i had also inquired on ANC, the agent said it is a seasonal flight, and hence you might not be able to book it if 'out of season'
there is also a max 1 transcontinent rule (my interpretation is direct flight cross 3 time zones) which may fobid you to do the lax-sju run (not sure about this at all)

HK, pegasus is right. lax-sju-lax is two transcons and it will be rejected. If you are doing milage accrual only for South America, you can do this.

You would need to stop in LAX or DFW. If you do in LAX after mid-may, give me a mail.
I think that's right, but confusing.

The eze-scl-lim does exist on one flight number on Lan Chile, but in experience, it can be hard to get.
Good luck.

Thanks!
Darren suggested a great path to add up miles, I deleted my SJU stop and still get more miles!
I checked and found that the LAX-EZE will be on LA600 LAX-SCL-LIM-EZE.
BTW, I planned the trip with OAG and the turn-over time at LIM is 23hours! (EZE-LIM arrive at 02xxpm, and the LIM-EZE depart next 0135am) and I have two of this turn-over. I think I can sleep at airside lounge.
Any alternative to solve this layover?
Thanks a lot!
** Anybody have experience that airline will release one more M-seat to price the OWE or will strictly say no when M=0 on that flight? (my HKG-LHR and KIX-DFW and HKG-SIN are M=0)

I am going to Oneworld hell for sure....
I am sorry, but I don't know how to quote and am too lazy and busy to learn now.
Basically, just change your flights on the 25th to lim-scl and scl-lim. There are many flights a day, and you would only lose 1400 base miles. Personally, if this is a milage run, my 2 days time isn't worth 1500 miles and I would personally make the change.
------------
HERE IS MY UPDATED ITN:
yyz-dfw-jfk-lax (AA1431/100/21)
lax-eze (LA601)
eze-lim (LA600)
lim-scl (LA?)
scl-lim (LA?)
lim-eze (LA601)
eze-lax (LA600)
lax-lhr (AA136)
lhr-prg (BA856)
and so on.... Everything was moved up a day or 2.
BTW, three things. First, LA has changed flight times more often than my uncle changes his underwear. Keep that in mind. They also have changed my flights on me (physical flights and numbers). I think they are/were expanding their network and routing, and resetting routes according to yield factors. Second, the lax-eze flight can be hard to get. Also the lim-eze (and reverse, of course). So you might have to give up the miles anyway. Lastly, this is my itinerary at that time. If you coincide with any of it, give me a mail at [email protected] .
08apr lax-scl (la601)
09apr scl-ccs (la560)
16apr ccs-scl (la561)
16apr scl-lim (la600)
23apr lim-scl (la599)
27apr scl-lax (la600)
28apr lax-lhr (aa136)
29apr lhr-cai (ba155)
and so on....
So as I said, if you put yourself on any of those flights or will be at the airport during my layovers, let me know and I would be glad to meet with you.
Good luck.

One thing you might want to consider is to fly AY to HEL and back as there's a double mileage offer (to add to your elite bonus).
Change your outbound YYZ-DFW-JFK-LAX to YYZ-DFW-LAX
and inbound from S. America from AA LAX-LHR-PRG to
AA LAX-JFK AY JFK-HEL-FRA (overland to PRG)
The changes of DFW-JFK-LAX-LHR-PRG earns you approximately 9,969 basic miles + 9.969 elite (assuming you're PLT). DFW-LAX-JFK-HEL-FRA earns you approxmately 8,767 + 8,767 elite + 5,057 AY double bonus miles or about 2,600 more.
On your Asian leg, you might want to consider changing SIN-HKG-SEL-HKG to SIN-HKG-DEL-HKG or if they won't let you, SIN-BKK-HKG-DEL-HKG. They're about 2,100 and 900 extra basic miles respectively.

Within North America , as you are in the Continent of Commencement, the 6 sector rule does not apply. Note too that within North America, a transit is anything less than 4 hours as opposed to international's 24 hour rule.
If you can, avoid London, the airport taxes alone for going through London more than a few times will set you back at least $100 or so!
For the 'Indian' part - you may want to try: HKG-SIN-BOM (on QF) - HKG-SEL-HKG-NRT-DFW-ORD-YYZ.
Note too that even you decide to go land from PRG to ZRH, ZRH will also be counted as a stopover! Hence you may have already exceeded your number of stops within Europe. Be careful on that.

Guy, two things. The prg/zrh will be counted as one stopover, as long as he does his own transport. Also, the four hour only applies if you are departing *and* arriving domestic US. In other words, if you go HKG-JFK-LAX, you get 24 hours in JFK. If you go LAX-DFW-CLE, you get 4 hours in DFW. One way around this is to take the last flight of the day, which bumps the stay longer. As long as you don't go over 24h, they don't say much. Or you can schmooze the agent. This is the *only* thing that AA tariffs didn't say too much about. Otherwise, AA tariffs is like the gestapo.
Finally, the BAA charges the majority (or all) of it's taxes on departure, and not on arrival. So if you fly LAX-LON-LAX, you pay high tax. If you fly LAX-LON=FRA-LAX, less taxes. I paid as much to do LAX-LON=AMS-LAX a few years ago as an LAX-LON-LAX because of the tax difference, even though the base fare was quite a bit higher. Not helpful in most RTW trips, but a good thing to consider if you travel for leisure.

Confirmed the 24-hr rule.
But even res within AA RTW desk will have different rules. such as...
1."YYZ-JFK-LAX is not allowed since it is Backtracking", while another one said no problem at all. (I asked "Can I backtrack within a continent and the 2nd agent said yes and book me YYZ-LGA, JFK-LAX)
2. "2 stopover, 1 at gateway 1 other city, no matter at dept or arrival of the origin contient".. verus "You can only take 1 stop BEFORE international dept and 1 AFTER international dept, AND 1 of them must be international gateway at origin continent"
Sounds similar but will affect the routing a lot!!
3. "You cannot buy extra segments within your origin continent" verus "you have 7 segments in NA so it is base fare plus CAD$155.." (somehow I get rid of it by doing YYZ-LGA instead of YYZ-ORD-EWR)
4. Some agent cannot find the "same flight number but change of plane required" segments, but another one can.
==>Result. Whenever you get your itn denyed or specific flight not found, but you think it is valid, hold your reserv and call back later for another rep.
Some Nice Touch..
1. Allowing me to waitlist a "Y=0" flight
2. Reminding me CX do not earn miles for US member
I am one step ahead now..
