Elite status change on existing reservation
I noticed about three days ago my elite status on AA changed to EXP from PLT. And I have a few reservations made when I was PLT.
I had thought the conventional wisdom was that I should call AA and ask them to re-enter my AAdvantage number so that the new status would be reflected in the reservations.
But to my surprise, when I called AA yesterday, they told me the status has been automatically updated and upgraded.
OK, that is very good. I never had that experiences with UA, NW or NH.
But it looks a little different with AA's oneworld partners, quite understandably, perhaps.
My new status did not kick in even in a few reservations I made today with CX and BA.
Does anyone know how long it would take for a status change to be reflected in partner airlines' reservations?

If the reservation was made on American Airlines' system, it would take about a week after their system recognises your new status for the nex information to be passed over to the other OneWorld airlines.

Guy Betsy, thank you as always. So it will be reflected automatically in partner carriers' reservations? I have a few flights coming up in a few days. I guess it will not be ready by then. I just wanted to have a look at The Wing's First Class section.

An elite status change of my AAdvantage account does seem to be updated automatically in oneworld partners' reservations as well.
A CX segment I flew on Sat. did not show that change but after I arrived in LHR, when I checked in for a BA flight, my status came out as emerald. I did not not ask BA to re-enter my AAdvantage number for updating.
Under another PNR, I also had a BA flight. This also showed my updated status.
These two reservations were made when I was Platinum with AA. As Guy Betsy says, it looks like within one week, the change will be reflected in partner airlines' reservations. Nice
