Jumping the gun a little, but today is the last day of the "Continents" promotion. As I was unable to travel during the time period of this promotion, I am hoping that OW will come out with another ASAP. Similiar to the discussion in the Star Alliance forum, what would you folks like to see as the next OW promotion ?

i doubt we'll see another promotion until they get some new members. this is to encourage people to take new carriers they may not have sampled before. the first promotion was flawed because you could fly up to five carriers within the boundaries of europe. so qf and cx feel as if they got burned. this time, by making us go aroung the world, cx and qf definitely got their fare share, but i wonder about ay, ib, and ie due to their limited coverage. la probably got some benefit, as if you truly wanted south america and not central america, you had to use them at some point.

if i had my druthers, i would like to go back to the last promotion. i would do a rtw again and have no problem hitting all the different continents to max mileage, as well as the different airlines. dl had a promotion like this two years ago when they had about 13 partner airlines. i flew seven of them to get 115k in bonuses. just make sure the promo is not during the aussie winter. it has been raining and windy in perth, and now in mel. get me down here during mardi gras again if you please.

I agree with lonman. Whatever the next promotion can it please be in the South American summer!! It was freezing in Sydney and Buenos Aires while we were there!!

However, i think OW did a "great" job planning this promo. Complete ambiguity in whether intra-continental flights counted caused many just to give up or just go for 1 promotion. Also it was much more difficult to pick up all 6 continents, rather than just 5 seperate carriers.

On the down side I do not think many people on this board even flew EI whose introduction to 1 World was part of the reason for this promotion.

For the next promotion how about a 100K bonus for connecting through 6 of the 1 World Carriers hubs (ie. HKG, DUB, LON, SYD, DFW, SCL, HEL, MAD). This would at least require you fly a variety of carriers.

it's actually quite nice here in syd (22 degrees C). but who abandon hope of getting credit in more than 1 program? all of my intercontenetals are in aadvantage except my ba flight to the us, but i still entered my ba, cx, and la numbers in assorted flights. i was going to qualify for platinum, but not even come close to exec, as i will bve finishing qualifying for nw & us gold the rest of the year, so i figured what the hell. it's obvious that most of the people you speak to on the phone DON'T know the rules, so odds are the folks that do the posting, don't know them either.

after my first three flights, which i flew ba, and had my number extracted from the record, but5 yet the flights posted in my aa account, i decided to work everyone's (including mine) last nerve, and insert ff numbers at check-in. so far i have two glitches in my record and the both occured on aa, when after three attempts, i could not get the agent to print the appropriate ba and cx numbers on my flights. upon my return i will have these deleted from my aa account, as not only did i specify at check-in, i also followed up with a phone call to the plat desk. cx was the best about this, as the correct number showed up on each of my 10 boarding passes. qf was a little hairy, insisting i couldn't do this. in fact, i had to go to 4 people before one flight to get this done.

now we'll see what happens when the all the flights finally post. everything that has posted from cx so far has been correct. qf probably won't show up for some time.
