Upgrading on OneWorld carriers?

Is it possible to use AA miles to upgrade a coach fare to business (or first) on another OneWorld carrier? If so, how would this be accomplished?

AA's web site says upgrade with AA miles is possible on CX.

Upgrade on a full-fare Economy class (Y,Y2,YX2) to Business Class
www.aa.com --> AAdvantage --> Using Miles on Airlines --> Cathay Pacific

Forget about economy to Business. Go for Business to First.

I agree with Guy Betsy. The price difference between full economy ("Y" class) and business class is often very minor. In some instances, like very often with Qantas, business fare from travel agents is about 25% cheaper than full "Y" fare.
