RTW tickets
I'm about to buy a RTW ticket to get advantage of the bargain first class fare. I realize that oneworld and Star issue their own RTW tickets, but many other airlines have combined, usually one US and one or two non-USl, to create RTW tickets. I can't find a list of these combinations.
Another problem is ticketing rules that seem nubulous at best According to United and AA there are no written rules that they can send me.

A FlyerTalk regular, Dorian, has created a site...
http://www.informationlab.com/rtw.htm
...that contains details of *A RTW tickets, prices (depending on country of origin) and basic rules. When planning my *A RTW ticket I used a Travel Agent in the UK as dealing with the airlines was impossible. Airline ticket staff don't seem to be unsure (or unwilling to spend the time) of how to build a complex trip.
My agent has been excellent and has pressurised the airlines into releasing the appropriate booking class if no availability was showing for a particular flight.
Details of my itinerary can be found at:-

Most airlines offer RTW with other airlines other than their own alliances. Sometimes you can get one alliance member team up with another to have a joint round the world. For example: CX/UA, CX/DL, CX/TW. Or SQ/KL, SQ/TW or NW/VS, KL/AN/NZ.
The most important fact to you is what are your cities, and the airlines you want to fly with. Then the frequent flyer programmes kick in.
