Preferences on 1W Airlines?
Looking for a few good opinions out there...
In August I'll be flying JFK-SIN-LHR-JFK in Biz. Looks like the best option JFK-SIN is CX thru HKG. Obviously I've got to use AA from LHR-JFK to get my miles. My question is the SIN-LHR segment - I could go CX, BA, or QF. Who do you think's got the best J class? Who would treat 1W Emerald the best? Anything else I should consider?
Also wondering if I might ought to use this opportunity to get some of the 1W Bonus. This trip will be pretty quick, but I do have weekends attached to each city. Any thoughts on some easy sidetrips that might net me a few more miles? Frankly, every time I try to look at the rules I end up with a headache!
As always, thanks for the help everyone!

Don't forget the CXMAX bonus on AAdvantage (that's the registration code. 10k miles o/w to Asia, 25k r/t. DOUBLE out of Toronto, and 10k for every 6 CX flights you take (in the premium cabin).
So, if you can do LGA-YYZ and take the CX service YYZ to HKG, you get a 20k bonus there instead of 10k leaving from JFK to HKG via YVR. If you have the time in Asia, go CX SIN-BKK, buy a business class ticket to go BKK-HKG-BKK before going back to HKG and then to LHR on CX (or if no time, CX SIN-HKG-SIN but that can be pricey unless they still have SIN-JKT-SIN). Get another 20k (7 CX segments in all though you just need 6).
I don't like the QF business class seats (Dreamtime or not) as they are curved too much and don't recline enough to sleep well. The food wasn't impressive either (used to be). Never overnighted in a CX flight but the seats seem to have slightly better recline. Food is good. BA's J seat is better than QF, about the same as CX but food is not very good.

You don't say whether you are doing the journey on a RTW ticket but assuming you are not why not route JFK - LHR - SIN outbound as well as return?
The AA132 out of JFK @ 21:10, arrive 09:15, connects with the BA11 @ 11:55.
Routing via YVR on CX and changing at HKG is about 24 hours airtime with 3 stops. Routing via LHR is about 20 hours airtime with 1 stop.

Aack! That headache is coming back! ;-) Good advice on both counts. Not sure about maximizing the miles, though. It seems like a lot of time & effort for the extra 40K miles. Actually, going through YYZ wouldn't be difficult, but I doubt I'll make the effort for the other 20K with the 6 CX segments.
That's good advice, too, Gaza - I'll take a look at that.
I had another thought, too. Though it's not exactly direct, what about LGA-ORD / ORD-NRT / NRT-SIN? AA.com says I can upgrade for only 15K miles on ORD-NRT, which sounds like a great deal. Then I can upgrade for 10K miles LHR-JFK. It would be nice to be in F for those legs rather than J. Anyone know when the new F suite will be on the 777s to NRT and from LHR?
Thanks again for the help!
