Sydney - Montreal
I have to fly from Sydney to Montreal. Any suggestions on best route on Quantas, AA or Canadian ? At present my 3 flight itinerary is Sydney - Honolulu - Toronto - Montreal on Canadian and they do not have F class.

I would stick with your first choice - SYD-HNL with Qantas and HNL-YYZ-YUL on Canadian. Why not JFK-YUL? JFK-YUL flights are on Saab 340 props where the lack of F class is the least of your worries.
In my opinion, CP in-flight service in Int'l Business Class (they use either DC-10 or 767 on HNL-YYZ) is equal or superior to most other airlines and perhaps more importantly - they really need your $$$ right now!

I booked Qantas. It goes to JFK with one stop in Lax. Then I wait 5 hours for JFK-YUL in transit on AA. I will not set foot on DC-10 or MD-11's. As a matter of interest the round the world airfares on the Oneworld Cartel just increased 25% out of Asia. Would be interesting to compare Oneworld Explorer fares out of other locations.
