New Year's Surcharge?
Has anyone heard of a new year's surcharge for travel between 12/10-1/10 on a oneworld ticket?
My travel agent told me it was US$600.

Yes - there is a surcharge if you travel between 10Dec99-10Jan00, or leave your ticket OPEN dated. The charges are: First Class - US$600, Biz Class - US$450, and Economy Class - US$250. This is not applicable for travel ORIGINATING from Australia/New Zealand.
However, in view of the upcoming Sydney Olympics, the above charges apply if travelling to or from SW Pacific between 01Sep00 - 01Oct00.
Only 1 surchare applies regardless of how many segments taken on those dates.
