Oneworld RTW fares

There was a topic a while back in the STAR thread which had some info on RTW fares and I think there was also such a thread in the Oneworld thread.
But as a general rule the RTW can be cheaper if TICKETED in Canada. In other words you have to actual start travel in canada and buy the tix there.

BTW if you can arrange to start your trip in Asia - specifically Thailand or India you could have a considerable amount (> $2000 in Biz class) You could also buy a cheap ticket to there for less than a $1000 and save the diff.
