Lounge Access for Emerald members...
I remember reading somewhere sometime ago that Emerald oneworld members are permitted access to Business Class oneworld lounges when flying on a non-oneworld carrier.
But of course when I need the written confirmation of this policy to show a disgrunted lounge agent, I don't have the information on hand.
Can anyone shed any light to this?

Celestar340...unfortunately, I don't think this is true...
I think what you remember is from CX The Club's membership guide...CX Diamond (oneworld Emerald) members can get into CX Business Class Lounge when flying any other airlines (and of course First Class Lounge when flying CX and oneworld airlines)...

Strictly speaking the lounge access benefits only apply when flying with a oneWorld carrier. However, BA allows gold members access to their lounges when flying non oneworld and I think QF does as well. I know for sure CX will not let an Emerald member into their lounges when not flying with them - I tried in Bangkok recently (while the strike was on) and had no luck.

oh, sorry, maybe I didn't make it clear in my last post...yes, I mean CX only lets Macro Polo Diamond (which is equivalent to oneworld Emerald) into CX lounges even when you are not flying with them or oneworld...I didn't mean they let all Emerald's to do this...

It was confusing because certain oneWorld carriers permit their own Emerald level members to use their lounge and if another airline's Emerald level member shows up, they are quite lenient.
When in SYD a few months back, I was flying Thai on an award ticket, QANTAS permitted me to use their Qantas Club lounge plus my travelling companion.
When I was in BKK, I used the CX Business Class lounge when I was travelling on Scandinavian Airlines (the aircraft's gate was closer to the CX lounge than SAS's).
As tedhl mentioned, yes, Cathay permits their Diamond (1w-EM)to use the Biz class lounge when flying another airline. So maybe this was why.
