Oneworld,Onedissapointment

What does Oneworld do besides link frequent flyer programs? I recently flew a multi-leg New York-London-Hong Kong-Singapore-London-New York all in First Class. When traveling in Business or First you already have access to the clubs and the appropriate check-in lines? Any thoughts?

How about the ability to upgrade....using my
BA Emerald status on an American Airlines domestic flight?

Speedbird: The same reply as to your post on the BA thread. Although I suspect your question is retorical?

Changing carriers is easier. Timetables will start to be co-ordinated. Routes which would otherwise be unprofitable are feasable.

Service standards will improve across all carriers. Additional support staff are available at airports. Prices will not increase as much, as savings are made. When your plane breaks down a replacement aircraft will be available quicker. Waitlist
priority is avialable across all alliance partners etc etc etc

Speedbird -- as an AA Emerald I can tell you that after many legs on BA, QF and CX I have been very well treated. Particularly with regards to waitlisting for flights (even when waitlisted for a discounted QF ticket I had top priority and a confirmed seat came through within a day). Also, the oneWorld carriers all try to seat Emerald passengers in coach at the front of the cabin.

It is early days yet and I expect we will see further advantages come out as the alliance matures.
