Airberlin still part of OneWorld?

I saw some news in late 2016 saying that airberlin might be leaving OneWorld and that it was cancelling its partnership with American, but that never seemed confirmed. I'm looking at a trip in May on Airberlin, but was wondering if anyone knew if my American/OneWorld status would be honored still on airberlin or if they were actually leaving.

Yeah. There were a lot of rumors that they were leaving and stopping codeshares with American in some of the big travel blogs the past few months (especially with selling their planes to one of their biggest rivals) but I've never seen any official announcement. Guess it's safe to book a trip for May and expect them to be OneWorld still
