Award ticket on BA
I have the opportunity to book a BA award ticket to London this fall. My question is after I book the ticket can I use my AA status ( Platinum) to get a better seat selection? If so how would I go about doing this?
Thanks for any help

Best asked in the BA forum, but as I understand it, OWS (incl AA Plat) and OWE have access to seat selection immediately on booking, free of charge, through the BA website.

Yes. After booking call BA and request to have the frequent flyer number attached to the booking changed to your AA number. This will allow you to select seats for free online.

If the booking is being made from your PLT AAdvantage account, your AA number should be transmitted to BA automatically. Then simply access your booking on AA.com, which should link you to BA.com - or go to BA.com/mmb and retrieve your booking there to choose your seats.
Shouldn't even need talk to anyone or update any frequent flyer numbers or anything more taxing than looking at the seat map and making a decision.

Questions regarding the use of specific mileage programs should be directed to the relevant airline thread, i.e. the FFP being used.
