No. I'm not even in Australia at the moment
But I wanted to purchase there because I have an Australian credit and so to avoid the foreign exchange that they would charge if I bought elsewhere

I used flightplanet.com.au . It is a fully accredited travel agent, been around for years.

However they do charge a service fee. I was told it is normally 8% of the ticket value, but I got a discount to 5% (so I paid $241). They also charge a fee for paying by credit card (1.5% I think, but I go that waived).

To purchase a RTW ticket, you should be able to phone Qantas direct

With only minor differences in price between xONE3 and xONE4. Too bad that ex-WDH A fares went up as well.

Does QF have a RTW dept/phone or just the general reservation number?

I gave them a call about a month ago inquiring about an exMPM ticket - went through to the WP desk - had a great agent who bounced around a few different QF teams but after 30 mins trying they pretty much said it wasn't going to work.

I called the AA RTW desk and they were able to get it done... but I realise that doesn't really help you.

A bit off topic, but after all these price increases what is the cheapest place to start an AONE/DONE now? Anything better than Japan?

Keep checking other places in Africa.
Exchange rates can change things at any time.

(My first DONE3 ended up being ~$300 more expensive because of the time it took QF to sort out ticketing. The tool worked for what I wanted, at the time QF ticketed for JL via the tool. There were issues with transaction limits and we had to try to coordinate a temp limit increase and ticketing within the increase period with the bank, QF SYD and QF Japan while public holidays - and closed offices - kept getting in the way)

As I noted in another thread, most of the exAfrica fares are now filed in USD to prevent another KRT or MPM.

I've explained it before, but look in the routing rules on EF.
