Oneworld and Qatar Privilege Club

Hi

I have just achieved Gold with Qatar which means I have Sapphire with One World.

I have no idea what this means in practice.

I know the QR will give me certain benefits, but if (for example), I was to now travel with a One World airline, would I get that airlines benefits which is equivalent to their Sapphire?

So if I used BA, could I use their Sapphire equivalent benefits even though I am only Blue with them?

Thanks

You'll get alliance level privileges whatever those may be. They tend to be a bit less in OW than the other 2 but at least afford you lounge access.

Why are you a member of 2 OneWorld airline freq fyer programs?

You get benefits associated with the ffp number/status in your reservation. At times showing the other (higher status) card for things such as additional baggage allowance, lounge access works, but not always, if the BA card number is in the reservation.

I'm a member of both because I joined QR before I joined OneWorld. I only ever put my QR number into reservations.

This is probably where I am confused.

If I do not actively use the OW programme, am I still considered to have the QR Gold equivalent status?

Their is no "OW programme" Each on the airline in the OneWorld alliance has its own ffp. They are very diiferent.

But as QR Gold/OW Sapphire you have benefits when travelling with other OW airlines, as post 3 above.
