Why choose oneworld?
You can get full credit for flown miles or distance based on one world atleast for 2015 while skyteam is switching to miles based on ticket prices from jan 1st 2015 and star alliance from March 1st 2015

For example many CX low cost fares earn nil miles in CX and other OneWorld airlines ffp's.
Not all Star Alliance airlines ffp's are changing to a cost basis for ffp's

There is a distinction between products & services offered by an alliance and those offered by alliance members. Alliances are mostly marketing entities although there are some (very few) alliance-wide offerings (e.g. elite status benefits).
Airlines are quite diverse in their offerings, and all alliances have "good" and "poor" airline members.

In the QF ffp you earn on AA flights
- 25% on O & Q booking class
- 50% on GKLMNSVW booking class
