Hi Folks;
We'll be flying a Circle Pacific 26K ticket (originating in HKG) later this year.
Full Itin is
(Nov 2014) HKG-DFW(x)-MCO(x)-DFW-ELP(x)-DFW-OGG(x) (HA to HNL) and then return to Perth HNL-SYD-PER(x) - and in Jul 2015 complete the trip with a PER-HKG (and start our next CIRCP26!).
My question - I recall the ability to add segments to RTW - and possibly xONEx tickets called "Discover America" or "Discover Australia" - where you could add flights in country, pretty cheaply. I recall one of the caveats was - you needed to purchase these "Discover" tickets before your travels started, and needed to be purchased outside of intended country (e.g. for my Discover America, I purchased them while in Australia before the trip started).
I've done some searching in this forum; as well as Google - but can't seem to find any recent reference to this type of ticket.
I'll probably call the RTW desk this weekend -- (Fri USA time) - but thought I'd also ask my fellow travellers for their thoughts/experience).
I'm interested in adding some "Discover Australia" segments (ideally in Business, - our CIRCP is in Business)
o - Is it still possible to purchase these "Discover Australia" type
segments/tickets?
o - Do they count towards the 16 segment limit? or are they "above and beyond" with no limit?
o - Any idea of what the cost is (or was recently) for each segment? I recall - many years ago, that coach segments were like $150 or, regardless of distance (I added a "Discover America" set of segments - and did a JFK/LAX and LAX/MIA on a RTW ticket, each was about $150, and used my AA EXP status to stand by for upgrades)
Thanks for your thoughts/assistance!

Not sure if this is what you refer to but Visit North America fare appears to be economy only. See
http://www.oneworld.com/flights/sing...north-america/
Flights on that fare will not count towards the xONEx segment count or rules.

Thanks mate!
I was interested in the Visit ANZ portion; and following your link - I was able to find the Visit Australia/New Zealand section - which is exactly what I was looking for!
http://www.oneworld.com/flights/sing...ia-new-zealand
But - there's no pricing showing - just how they break the flights into segments/legs based on miles/kilometers -- so it looks like a call to AA is in order for this weekend!
And - it does appear to be economy only too. (drats).
I'll be curious of the pricing; as we're able to do mileage bookings RT for 35K in Business (and with close to 800K in US Airmiles in the bank, may be more cost effective, and comfortable - to do award bookings for these inter Aussie flights).
Again - thanks mate!

I suspect you're conflating two separate concepts here
Edited to add:
I see you found the Visit pass info yourself, while I was slowing typing my response while having breakkie
And yes - I consider 35K AA miles for PER-AKL return in J to be one of the better award redemptions around (doing it myself next month
)
- Purchasing additional intra-continent segments on a xONEx (Oneworld Explorer ticket)
On this ticket the number of free flight segments in each continent is limited to 4 (6 in Nth America)
But you used to able to purchase up to two additional flight segments per continent
This was removed from the fare rules a little time ago - Visit Passes
These are still available - here's the link for the Visit Australia & New Zealand pass
They are economy only, and the per segment fare is distance based
Only available to non residents of Australia & New Zealand
Must be purchased in conjunction with a OW ticket to/from Australia/New Zealand
I don't know what they cost currently, but IIRC they weren't considered a great deal compared to QF discount economy fares
