Lounge Access in Istanbul

We are traveling to Istanbul in Economy on Turkish Airlines. I am Gold on US Airways, so Saphire in OneWorld. It sounds like there are two lounges in the Istanbul airport: Turkish and BA. Can we access either of these lounges?

No. Turkish Airlines is in Star Alliance - your US Gold won't help with lounge access. To access a lounge in IST when flying TK you need to be flying in business class or have Star Alliance gold status.

BTW IST airport has several lounges, not just two.

Lounge Access in Istanbul

And though BA is a Oneworld lounge, you don't get access when flying a Star Alliance airline

But you can try visit lounge with US gold card, especially if have staralliance logo on them. This is depends of people on gate to lounge. Few times I visit lounge with expired gold card and expired gold Status(mostly in night time).

Lounge Access in Istanbul

The BA lounge closed over a year ago now so you won't have much luck there I am afraid.

That's unlikely to work. OP has a gold card for an airline that is no longer part of star alliance, which has been well publicised to relevant staff. Quite different to someone failing to notice an expiry date on a card.

Hi--first time posting, but had a question about lounge access.

I'm Gold on Star Alliance (on United) and I'm flying Turkish Airlines next month with two friends of mine. One is Star Silver (also on United) and the other is nothing. Do you think it'd be possible for me to get all three of us (me and TWO guests) into the Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul? We have a 5 hour layover, so it would be a huge help obviously. I think I can officially get one guest in, but I was just wondering how understanding they'd likely be.

Thanks for your help!

No, the *G guest benefit is limited to one. Some lounges might permit a second child/infant guest but not a 2nd adult.

If any of you are flying Turkish in business class then you don't need to be guested in as have access by class of travel.

Was through here about 2 weeks ago. There was a huge mess / line at the lounge dragon desk.

We ended up just walking in using the E-gates unchallenged.

It's a pretty busy place. You might get away with it. Or, you might be able to buy access. Unsure if this is sold or not.
